Katori Shingo's first solo exhibition in Japan, "Suntory All-Free presents BOUM ! BOUM ! BOUM ! Katori Shingo's First Solo Exhibition in Japan" has finally opened at the IHI Stage Around Tokyo (Toyosu) on Friday (Fri) 15th.

Katori appeared at the press conference held before the opening."Hello, I'm Katori Shingo. Thank you for joining us today. The time has finally come. I'm so excited, I can hear the BOUM BOUM (= buzzing, a French word that describes the sound of a pounding heart)."He greeted.

About the exhibition"It was my dream to have a solo exhibition, but I never imagined it would be in such a large theater. I am truly grateful to everyone for their help and support. I am also very grateful to everyone who came today. I want everyone to see the moment when one man's dream came true."He was talking about this.

The venue is the IHI Stage Around Tokyo, where the audience seats rotate 360 degrees."Even though it was a solo exhibition, it was held in a theater, and even when I was meeting with the staff, they said things like, 'The lighting is a little too bright, so make it a little darker and use a moving mechanism,' or, 'There's not enough smoke, is there?' I felt like they were directing a concert. I've never seen any solo exhibitions with smoke in them, but at solo exhibitions, you want people to be able to see the paintings, and sometimes they use so much smoke that you can't see them (laughs). I think that's really the best."He commented.

continue"Just like in my previous concerts and live performances, I want to raise everyone's emotions to the highest level. I think that they will feel emotions they can't experience anywhere else, and then when they look at the paintings they will say, 'What was this place?', 'This is a place I've never experienced before,' or 'Wow, that was fun,' so I really want everyone to come."He also shared his thoughts about this solo exhibition.

BOUM ! BOUM ! BOUM ! Katori Shingo's first solo exhibition in JapanThe works in the venue will continue to change little by little.

Regarding the works to be shown at this exhibition,"For this solo exhibition, I'm creating works that I want to enter my body, and right now, surrounded by my own works, this is the place where I feel most comfortable."He continued, "About the new work "BOUM ! BOUM ! BOUM !", which is the symbolic object of the solo exhibition,"This object is designed so that you can feel my heartbeat as I'm making it, so if you touch it and put your ear to it, you can feel my heartbeat. I really want everyone to see the whole thing! I want them to even hear the sound of my heart (laughs). As for 'BOUM ! BOUM ! BOUM ! ' I want everyone to really touch it and feel me."He said.

The works in the venue are almost complete."I have until June, so when I have time I'll come here and draw little by little, adding to the space. I think it's good to keep changing. There's plenty of space to draw on the floors, walls, and so on, so I think the number of pictures will keep increasing."" and finally addressed the fans."I want everyone to see everything I have to offer. I am confident that you will not regret coming. I think this will be the first solo exhibition you will ever see. Please come and see it."He concluded the press conference with this call.

The experiential art exhibition "Suntory All-Free presents BOUM ! BOUM ! BOUM ! Katori Shingo's First Solo Exhibition in Nippon" will be held at a 360-degree rotating theater, where over 700 performances were held over 88 days from the first to third periods, until Sunday, June (Sun).
